HERE I AM AGAIN....4 YEARS LATER..... I am back again but this time it's not about just low-carb.  It's about healthy eating so we are incorporating the Paleo lifestyle.  My husband was recently diagnosed with RA, rheumatoid arthritis and he' not even out of his 40s.  This really scared me so I decided to start fixing meals again for his health, to reduce inflammation for both of us and get our bodies as healthy as we are able. I purchased the famous Instant Pot from Amazon to fix our meals.  We've been eating up the groceries we have and replacing with whole foods and healthier choices. Yes, veggies!  I'm not so concerned with the sugar as long as it's natural like honey or maple syrup but will be replacing with stevia, where possible, in recipes. Starting today, after I get off work, fixing our first meal in the Instant Pot.  I just spent the last two days feeling like a slug...I really think I have an allergy to grains/cereals every time I eat them

Feeling so much better and down 4lbs!  Why in the world did I stray.  Just getting off sugar my mind is so much clearer.

Starting Over

Two years ago I started a new job at an art museum and slowly began falling off the wagon with my healthy eating habits because of our break schedules which were only 15 minutes.  Finding quick meals became increasingly more difficult, and let's be honest, I got lazy. I am now 200 lbs.  Wow I can't believe it.  I said I'd never be here again and here I am.  I do have a few excuses.  I quit smoking in December and my medication also helped with weight gain.  In three months I packed on the pounds. I also know alot of it is water weight even though I'm taking a HBP pill with a diuretic.  It's not getting rid of the water or something I'm eating is causing the water to retain. So I'm back to the starting line, cleaning out the cabinets and restructuring my diet. Here we go again....

Lost 10lbs!

I am so excited!  I lost the 10lbs I gained and continuing to stick to my FTS lifestyle with ease.  I have been using the Mission Carb Control wraps to make delicious, filling meals.  Sauteed shrimp with fresh spinach leaves and chopped tomatoes and a low carb dill sauce.  I've used a product called SteakEze, which are like steakums but better, with sauteed mushrooms and black olives with chopped tomatoes and provolone.  Mmmmmm yummy.  Of course, low carb treats using my Zero sweetener as well.  I'm not hungry and feel very satisfied. I can't wait to check in next month to see how much more I've lost.  My clothes are fitting better.  I was afraid if I didn't get back on my plan that I would grow out of my size 8 which I vowed never to do ever ever again.  I'll get smaller but never bigger. ;) So, I am a happy lady today!  It's a good day.

Back on Track with Fat to Skinny

I've not been totally devoted to the FTS program since about Thanksgiving and I'm paying for it now.  I've put on 10lbs.  Getting back on track starting today and plan to stick to it.  I've noticed that not only have I put on weight it's FAT WEIGHT.  My clothes are starting to get to tight...that was my first sign.  I've been feeling so sluggish and lower energy...that was my second sign. lol  I've cut out diet soda's and any beverages except for water...flavored seltzer water which is no carbs, no sugar, not calories, no sodium but the flavoring makes it palatable. Went grocery shopping and picked up frozen shrimp, spinach leaves, roma tomatoes, mushrooms, low carb wraps (6 net carbs) and other items to make my delicious home made low carb snacks and desserts. Wish me luck! Can't wait for the fat to just melt off again.  Last time the first week I lost 10lbs. so hopefully this will go quickly.  Sugar is evil! Current weight goal: Lo

Coconut Palm Sugar: Low-glycemic sugar replacement

NEW! All natural low-glycemic sugar replacement This is NOT FTS approved and I do not use it. Coconut palm trees are the natural source of this new wonderful and healthy sweetener alternative. Caramel-like crystal sugar. Perfect as a 1:1 cane sugar replacement, naturally low glycemic index food (GI35), boasting almost half the GI of cane sugar. With vitamins and minerals such as potassium, magnesium, zinc, and iron. Palm Sugar really is the sweetest way to a healthy lifestyle. Please be aware that is is 5 net carbs per 2  teaspoons which would really add up in a recipe. Izze
